A rare glimpse into Apple’s future plans shows that Siri is getting a complete overhaul and that user health will take center stage in upcoming iOS updates. A startling leak has revealed details of upcoming features for the iPhone planned for iOS 26.4, iOS 27 and iOS 28. The information comes from an internal version of Apple’s operating system that was never intended for the public, but has been analyzed by Macworld and journalist Filipe Espósito, among others. It is very rare for such concrete information about future iOS versions to be released more than a year in advance, and the leak therefore provides a rare detailed insight into Apple’s strategic direction. Siri, health and safety in focus The next update, iOS 26.4, is expected to feature a significantly improved Siri. The assistant will be equipped with “Apple Intelligence”, making Siri more personal and far more intelligent. At the same time, an update of the Health app is in the pipeline, with a new design and better overview of data. A potential subscription service called “Apple Health+” is also in development, which uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized health and fitness guidance. Other features in iOS 26.4 include auto-fill of credit card information in third-party apps, improvements to the Freeform app and increased login security. Apple also plans to improve the Find app with more precise localization of AirPods outdoors. Future prospects with iOS 27 and 28 With iOS 27, coming in 2026, a new approach to organizing photos and easier pairing of AirPods is in the works. In addition, more user experience improvements are expected in the Apple TV app, possibly with a dedicated sports subscription. In iOS 28, coming in 2027, Apple is focusing on expanding sleep tracking in Apple Watch and making the Health app available on Mac. As always with this kind of information, plans are subject to change. But indications are that Apple has ambitions to strengthen the iPhone as a digital assistant that integrates health, safety and smarter features into everyday life.
