After ten years on the market, it’s over for Google’s Chromecast. Production was stopped in February 2025 and Chromecast is now officially phased out globally. The decision is due to a strategic shift at Google to focus on more expensive devices with Google TV. While Chromecast has been a popular solution for streaming content on TVs, the market has already embraced a new low-cost favorite. One of the most notable is the Strong SRT-41 HDMI dongle, which has gained traction as an easy-to-use and affordable alternative. Low-cost products with familiar functionality are in high demand, and the desire for ease of use and low price is driving sales.
